Tree Stump

After removing a tree it is advisable to remove, or at least treat, the remaining stump to prevent suckering (new growth) and fungal rotting. Treating tree stumps should be done immediately after cutting and best avoided in the spring and early summer when the sap is rising, if treatment is not applied immediately after felling re-cutting may be required to ensure the treatment penetrates live tissue.
